Manager
With over 30 years of experience in the care sector, I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where residents feel truly at home. Beginning my career as a Care Assistant and progressing to Manager, I have gained extensive hands-on experience and leadership skills, with a strong focus on compassionate, person-centred care.
Before joining The Abbey, I worked in a large family-run care home, where I developed a deep appreciation for community, dignity, and treating every resident as an individual. Building strong relationships with residents, families, and staff is at the heart of everything I do.
Outside of work, I enjoy paddleboarding, walking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
Barbara Earle
Deputy Manager
With over 30 years of experience in the care sector, I have progressed from Domestic Assistant to Deputy Manager, gaining valuable experience in a variety of roles along the way.
I am passionate about providing kind, compassionate care and creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. Building meaningful relationships and treating everyone with dignity, respect, and genuine care is at the heart of what I do.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, going to the theatre, and travelling.
Mandy Radford
Admin
After more than 30 years working in the financial services industry, I joined The Abbey as an Admin Assistant in 2022 and have since progressed to Head of Administration. If you contact The Abbey or hear from us, there’s a good chance you’ll be speaking to me, and I’ll always do my best to help.
I enjoy being part of the friendly team at The Abbey and bringing plenty of positive energy to my role. My husband would describe me as loud, colourful, and full of personality!
Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, walking through the beautiful countryside with my husband and our dog, and socialising with friends at our local pub — usually with a glass of wine or two!
Fiona Hornsby
Head Chef
With a wealth of experience in cooking, including eight years working in a hotel and previous experience in a care home, I am dedicated to creating delicious, home-cooked meals that residents can enjoy.
Since joining The Abbey, I have loved getting to know our residents and creating dishes and delicious treats for them. I particularly enjoy baking homemade cakes, biscuits, and other treats, and take great pleasure in seeing the joy they bring to our residents. I believe food is one of the most important and enjoyable parts of life. Cooking from scratch and making mealtimes special is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog, spending time with family and friends, and the occasional cruise.
